Yamaha TFX - Fragile, but weak

Apparently eye-catching as a full-size bike, the 150cc engine and heavy car body make the Yamaha TFX less than perfect in performance.

With the aim of increasing its strength in the small sports stroller segment, Yamaha Vietnam has launched the new Yamaha TFX with a naked bike design that carries the direction of a large displacement bike. Thus, after the Yamaha FZ-150i, Yamaha took another step in tending the user tastes into the larger segment of the bike. And most likely, the TFX will gradually replace the FZ150i, because the exterior is considered more attractive, while the two cars with the segment and the customer.

New design, full of charm:

For the Yamaha TFX, the first thing to notice is the eye-catching look of the car when it comes to powerful styling with an angled gas tank, small head and slightly indented to create a sense of "shoulders." Corn meat "for this sports car. In addition, streamlined cuts from head to tail make for a more masculine look for the Yamaha TFX, but not as powerful as the Yamaha FZ-S or even the Yamaha FZ-150i.

Equipped with front lights and LED backlight also bring a bit modern and modern for the Yamaha TFX. The design of the car makes a difference when the "hippopotamus" is placed under the lamp, the light set on as a third eye makes the Yamaha TFX a good visual impression to the opposite person.

With the same DxRxC size measurement of 1,955 x 795 × 1,065mm, the Yamaha TFX is slightly shorter than the Yamaha FZ-150i, but with wider steering wheel and higher vehicle height (measured to the fuel tank cap). . This also makes the height of the Yamaha TFX raised to 805mm while the Yamaha FZ-150i is only 790mm high. Even in weight, the Yamaha TFX is also heavier than the Yamaha FZ-150i at 135kg.

The highlight of the Yamaha TFX is also located on the electronic watch face 100%. All the parameters of the car such as round trip, speed, ODO, Trip ... are displayed in numbers and do not have the same mechanical clock as the sports car. This can make many people a little shocked but actually use this digital watch face digital mode for more visually intuitive driver.

Another plus point of the Yamaha TFX is also in the up Side Down front side shock absorber with large diameter and 130 mm shock absorber - this is the Yamaha's first small sports limos In Vietnam use this type of shock absorbers. Meanwhile, the back is still a single monoshock shock absorber with a 125mm stroke.

It can be said that the Yamaha TFX completely satisfies the "vision" of the biker when looking for a car with a strong design, comfortable design and especially make a difference.

Engine, features and safety: No accent

If the appearance of the Yamaha TFX is quite thorough, the features and safety of this car is quite small when the car is only equipped with front disc brakes, anti-lock brakes ABS, There are no controls on either side of the steering wheel, ... Even the car's electronic display only displays basic information. This may be understandable when the car is priced at only 79.9 million dong and bikers will hardly be able to expect much technology on such a small sporty wheelbase.

The heart of the Yamaha TFX is a 149.8 cc SOHC engine capable of delivering a maximum output of 16.1 horsepower at 8500 rpm and maximum torque of 14, 4Nm at 7,500 rounds per minute. So, compared to the Yamaha brothers brother FZ-150i (capacity of 16.36 hp and maximum torque 14.5Nm), the Yamaha TFX also proved a bit weaker. In addition, Yamaha does not apply BlueCore technology to the Yamaha TFX. The only plus point for the Yamaha TFX is that it comes equipped with a six-speed gearbox that allows the car to run smoother and have an edge on the road.

Operation Yamaha TFX: Erotic, comfortable but not impressive

Featuring a small sports handbrake for beginners who are new to car buying or new to the wheelchair, it can be said that the Yamaha TFX has done a great job of helping the "newbie" Get used to the feeling of "gas out" when operating quite smoothly. Straight-back seat position than the Yamaha FZ-150i gives the driver more comfort in operation, wide steering angle for vehicle flexibility while traveling in slow speed and a little sense of acceleration when moving. In the street.

At a slower speed of less than 10km / h and no scissors, the Yamaha TFX's engine is quite unusual when it comes to creating a slight vibration beneath the bottom of the car. However, just pull the gas, the phenomenon disappears and instead feel pretty smooth and sure to accelerate.

When moving in the city, every time the rpm reaches about 4,000 rpm, just slightly jostling numbers as the Yamaha TFX has gently shifted. The feel of the TFX gearshift is quite fast and smooth, making it uncomfortable for beginners to practice shoveling. However, the distance of the hand is quite far away, the driver will quickly feel tired when used continuously.

With a 6-speed gearbox, if you are only walking in the street, the driver will rarely be able to reach level 6 fully. However, on the road, the six-speed gearbox of the Yamaha TFX is showing its superiority when it can reach maximum speed on the test track about 120km / h. However, with a limited 16.1 horsepower, the Yamaha TFX is really hard to give the biker speed. In addition, zin exhaust under the Yamaha TFX also did not make any impression when the sound and engine sound is quite weak.
